I’m Done!

Hello Dear (and few) Readers. It will be exactly one month tomorrow since my last post. Well, I won’t let it get that far gone. Let’s not go crazy here.

Anyway! The point to this post is to allow you all to know that I have made the move in one (almost one) piece. It was a bit crazy there for a bit, but all has worked out. My roommate and I are still working out some kinks here and there with cleaning some things up a bit (her bathtub faucet – years of lime and such are just caked on) and deciding how to work others (the dish washer – it’s OLD).

So, (hopefully) I’ll be back to writing on a more regular basis and will keep you posted on things! …. I’ll also add some pictures of the place. Some nondescript pictures. You know the kind. 😉
It’s a cute little storybook house. We love it!

Until tomorrow, my dears.

Multi-Tasking … To Do, or Not To Do?

Recently, I have been trying to read, catch up on TV shows, and clean. All at the same time. And all the while I’m thinking this one thought over and over again … WHAT AM I THINKING!? I don’t have time to do all of that at once. Who do I think I am? … Well, I’ll not answer that. HA!

I’ve caught up on some shows, and am now watching my way through ARROW. A drama based on the DC Comics’ Green Arrow. Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver, is quite the looker if I do say so myself. Hello!

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

Based on characters appearing in comic books and graphic novels published by DC Comics, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Green Lantern,” “Brothers & Sisters”), Marc Guggenheim (“FlashForward,” “Eli Stone”), Andrew Kreisberg (“Warehouse 13,” “The Vampire Diaries”) and David Nutter (“Smallville,” “Supernatural,” “Game of Thrones”). Melissa Kellner Berman (“Eli Stone,” “Dirty Sexy Money”) is co-executive producer. The pilot was directed by David Nutter from a teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim, story by Greg Berlanti & Marc Guggenheim.” {Taken from The CW}

Then there is the book that I’ve been trying so hard to get through. I really like the story line and the character development, but I cannot seem to read it the way it was meant to be read. I sometimes have to re-read paragraphs so I can read it the way that it was meant to be read. Oi! But, I’m getting through it and I think it’s a really grand book! I’ve just realized I didn’t mention what the title or who the author are. It’s Blood Red Road (Dust Lands #1) by Moira Young.

“Saba lives in Silverlake, a wasteland ravaged by constant sandstorms where her family scavenge from landfills left by the long-gone Wrecker civilization. After four cloaked horsemen kidnap her beloved twin brother Lugh, she teams up with daredevil Jack and the Free Hawks, a girl gang of Revolutionaries.

Saba learns that she is a fierce fighter, an unbeatable survivor, and a cunning opponent. And she has the power to take down a corrupt society from the inside. Saba and her new friends stage a showdown that change the course of her civilization.”

Last, but certainly not least, I try to keep up on the house cleaning. … Merp. Dishes, sweeping, moping, trash, laundry, dusting, scrubbing bathroom appliances, and just tidying up. Boy-oh-boy! It takes a lot of time and … well, time … to do all of this when the couch is calling me to sit on it and either read a good book or watch one of the many tv shows I’ve started.

I know it needs to be done, therefore I do it. Maybe not all in one day, but the work does get done throughout the week!

Now that I’ve vented about some issues, I feel better. I am going to go home and not do anything about this. I think, maybe, I enjoy all the chaos that I can control. Yeah? So, I will continue my raid of watching, reading, and cleaning! [Mostly] at the same time.
